Merry's Books
Miss Seton's Sonata
Richard Angles, the Marquis of Merrick, had always been
called Merry because he was such a happy fellow. But now,
he has lost everyone who has ever mattered to him. No
longer merry, Richard lives day to day, lost in his grief -- until
Teresa Seton accidentally intrudes in his life, bringing with her
new rhythms and responsibilities.
Teresa has come to London from her home in Madrid to make her curtsy to the society her English father
grew up in. As accomplished she is as a musician, she is equally inept at dealing with polite society.
Her mother, a beautiful and witty Spanish Doña, has always told her that she was much too dull and plain
to attract any gentleman’s attention – so Teresa has spent her formative years hiding behind her
pianoforte.
Richard is shocked one day to come home and find a beautiful young stranger playing his pianoforte …
and even more shocked to find that she thinks of herself as ugly and boring. To prove her wrong, Richard
kisses her. But they are interrupted by Teresa’s aunt who immediately makes it known that Teresa has
been compromised. Richard fulfills his duty by Teresa with a promise to have a marriage in name only.
The only problem with this splendid plan is that Teresa finds herself falling in love with her husband. But
does Richard have the ability to put aside his feelings for his dead wife in order to allow his feelings for
Teresa to come to the fore? Find out by reading the intensely romantic Miss Seton’s Sonata!

Wooing Miss Whately
Sara Whately would be the first to admit that she is too outspoken and probably should learn to
control her quick temper. But then, the dangerously handsome and disconcertingly witty
Lord Reath probably shouldn’t provoke her as much as he does.
Sara’s life has never been easy. Caring for her loving yet impractical widower father in
Philadelphia, she has had to struggle to make ends meet. Yet Sara, forthright and practical, has
never realized that there was anything missing from her life, other than financial security. Until,
that is, she comes to England on a quest, and is distracted by the devilish and debonair
Lord Reath.
Sinclair Stratton, the Viscount of Reath, has had his life handed to him on a silver platter. As a dashing young man-
about-town, and then as a diplomat traveling throughout India, he has never had to think of anyone other than himself.
Even women have been too easy to come by. The problem for ‘Sin’ is more a matter of fending them off rather than
having to attract them. Until now.
Reath is returning to England on a quest of his own -- to right a wrong he made in his youth. But the bold, beautiful and
confrontational young woman he meets on his first day back in England intrigues him bringing forth feelings he's never
experienced before. Not only would the fascinating Miss Whately rather discuss literature than ball gowns, but she
seemingly has no desire to trap him into marriage. In fact, she doesn’t even appear to enjoy his company – despite his
obvious charm and good looks.
What starts off as an amusing flirtation becomes much more serious when Reath learns that Miss Whately is none other
than the daughter of the very man who he has so deeply wronged. Reath is already captivated by this unusual and
beautiful woman, but now feels the added responsibility of making up for the sorrows that he had unwittingly caused
her. He decides to court her in earnest.
But can he ever succeed in wooing Miss Whately, given that she seems impervious to his practiced charms? And will
she be able to accept him, once she finds out about his past?

Dame Fortune
Who would have ever thought that the elegant, ever-fashionable St. John Fotheringay-Phipps,
aka Fungy, would fall for a blue-stocking? And yet, in this, the last book in the Merry Men Quartet,
that is just what happens.
A near-death experience and a severe blow to his ego has Fungy questioning his life, something he
has not done for fifteen years – not since the woman he loved left him for another man. Now
Fungy is going to prove himself to be responsible, by getting a job, and hopefully soon a wife.
Rose Grace, too, has to marry. Her archaeologist father has suddenly found himself unable to pay
their bills, making it imperative for Rose to wed a wealthy man – quickly. Fungy is wonderful, funny
and kind, and always around to help her out when she finds herself in a fix. But as far as Rose can
tell, he is not wealthy, so he cannot solve her financial woes. On the other hand, the handsome and smooth amateur
archaeologist Lord Kirtland is very wealthy. He is clearly the man she should marry – she only wished he
didn’t make her feel so uncomfortable.
But her dilemma is solved when Lord Kirtland introduces her to the world of gambling. She decides that winning at cards is
the way she can save her family's fortunes. This seems like a great plan – until she loses. Luckily, it is Lord Kirtland to
whom she owes the money, and that problem would be solved if only she can make him propose to her.
But how can Rose wager everything on Lord Kirtland, when it is Fungy who seems to hold all the cards for her happiness?
And will Fungy be able to reverse his fortunes, by relying on his steadfast friends, the “Merry Men” as well as on his heart?
